Jiggerty is an experienced barn dance band that comes complete with our own caller and PA sound system, and multi-instrumental musicians.
We are available for weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, charity events, festivals etc. Jiggerty play a range of Irish, Scottish, English and American dance tunes, with dance moves fully explained by our resident caller.
We have played in barns, village halls, mansions, marquees and boats – if fact we can work with any space that is large enough for people to dance.
Feel free to play our music by clicking on one of the coloured buttons below. Note that these are each approximately 5 megabyte MP3 files. If you want to download these (by right-clicking on the link if you have a PC), make sure you have a good connection - probably broadband.

We play traditional dance music (jigs, reels, hornpipes, polkas, marches, waltzes etc) using violin (fiddle), mandolin, mandola, banjo, tin whistle, flute, and guitar.
A traditional barn dance
– something for everyone.
Our caller usually starts the event with some simple dances (e.g. circle dances),
and progresses onto slightly more advanced moves (e.g. strip the willow etc)
if people feel up to it! We typically play for 3 hours, with a break at half
time to accommodate food, speeches etc. Dances are often grouped in pairs. Between
these pairs of dances we play background music whilst people enjoy a drink (and
catch their breath!). If you have any favourite CDs these can be played through
our sound system during the interval.
We can usually accommodate specific dances if told in advance. Read some testimonials from satisfied customers here!
Jiggerty are based in the Bristol / Bath area, but can travel anywhere within a 100 mile radius. Trips further than this are sometimes possible by special arrangement.
Jiggerty hold Public Liability Insurance (with a current limit of £5M). It is normally a condition of booking a venue, such as a village hall, that this insurance is held by the band.
Irish style tenor banjo lessons and mandolin lessons can be given for all levels.
